Heavy Metal premiered at the Boston Museum of Science, January 25, 2006. A performance piece that includes traditional instruments and a performing robot, Heavy Metal liberates the visual component of visual music from the screen by bringing it live to a stage. In the same way that dance or theatre become like imagery in a theatre, the movements of the robot provide a visualization of the musical composition.
